Course Description
Although some researchers and clinicians have developed plausible theories regarding potential causes (and therefore prevention) of breast cancer, broad disseminationof this information in a format that is understandable to the general public has been lacking. This 0.5 CEU (NCRA)/5.0 hour (IL noncore) course provides information on the anatomy and physiology of the breast, why it is so vulnerable to cancer and illustrates different stages of breast cancer development. This course compares the theories of Drs. David Derry, John Gofman and John Lee on the roles of iodine and thyroid hormone, ionizing radiation and hormonal imbalances as causative factors in breast cancer.
